Is it just me or do you all have like 50 million weddings to attend this summer?! I think every wedding I’m attending is outdoors! Today I’m putting together a list of must haves that you need to attend an outdoor wedding!
1. Lawn Friendly Shoes
If it doesn’t say whether the ceremony or reception is on the lawn, definitely ask! The worst thing is when you show up wearing stiletos and are fighting sinking into the grass all night long…not to mention ruining your pretty shoes!
My favorite shoes to wear to a wedding are wedges. I find wedges to be way more comfortable than traditional heels, and they give you flexibility to walk wherever you need to for photos, or a lawn ceremony or reception.
Here are a few of my favorite wedges that would go with any dress!
If you’re attending a wedding outside, you best have a good pair of sunnies! I love polarized sunglasses for the ultimate eye protection, but there are so many cute options that aren’t polarized that don’t break the bank! Here are a few of my favorites currently for sale…
3. Sunblock / Hat
No, but seriously. Sunburns are not to be taken lightly! I have a new favorite sunblock that I SWEAR is not oily or greasy!! It’s also super awesome because it’s harsh chemical free! I also use their face lotion in the morning before I apply my make up and I love it! It has a high SPF and makes me feel good about being covered all day. I apply it to my face and neck and high chest area. The spray I apply everywhere else!
4. A Wrap or Pashmina
Ok so normally a summer wedding will be ridiculously hot outdoors and you’ll be trying to fan yourself versus keep warm, BUT you never know! I always bring a wrap to a wedding just to be sure. Here in California, it tends to cool off at night and I’m using looking for my wrap after the sun goes down! Here are a few of my favorite options to go with any dress…
5. Flat Sandals or Flip Flops
I’m not trying to be tacky…but I would much rather slip on a pair of flip flops under my table than head out to the dance floor barefoot! The last couple of wedding I’ve been to I’ve TOTALLY done this and it was AWESOME! No twisted ankles on the dance floor in heels and you can’t complain about your feet being too tired to dance!
Here are a few of my favorite flip flops that you can easily bring to a wedding…
